Welcome
to Wellington Vineyards and winery on Dunbar Road nestled between the
lovely towns of Glen Ellen and Kenwood (locals call it Glenwood). The
hospitality staff is highly enthusiastic, friendly and is sure to provide
you with an educational and fun introduction to Wellington wines. We are
a small but tight-knit group of individuals. You may meet Peter Wellington
and Lynda Hanson, our wine making staff, or Toby Germano, our Tasting
Room Manager.
Our
first Tasting Room opened to the public in 1994. Many of you familiar
with the winery have fond memories of our cozy little tasting room with
its 15 foot long bar in a 20x15 foot room, sitting outside with a glass
of wine and a picnic looking over our vineyard that dates back to 1892.
Since August of 1998 we have been comfortably ensconced
in our new Tasting Room. As you stand and sample our wines you can enjoy
a beautiful panoramic view out eight huge bay windows that look directly
into old vineyards planted in 1924 with the Mayacamas Mountains as a backdrop.
The new Tasting Room also provides windows looking into the cellar were
you can see the barrels of wine aging and the winemakers busy at work
making those special handcrafted boutique wines we all enjoy so much.
Remember
walking through the front door and bumping into the bar all in the same
motion? We now have space to provide each of you with a one-on-one experience
of each of our wines. With all the added space we are proudly displaying
a few souvenirs, gourmet foods and works of art from Michael Richie, an
internationally acclaimed local artist noted for his superb use of color.
Upon your visit to the wine country feel free to give us a call to schedule
a tour. Our tours are by appointment only and we prefer to do them before
lunch. The tour includes a walk through the unique old vine vineyard,
weather permitting of course, and through our winemaking process. To schedule
a tour, please call us at 1-800-816-9463.
Thank you for your interest in Wellington Vineyards and
we are patiently awaiting your visit! |
